29. ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT ASSURANCES.
That this Honourable House resolves to establish a Sessional Select
Committee under Standing Order No. 97, titled “Committee on Government Assurances” with the following terms of reference:
“Establishment of the Committee
- There shall be established under this Standing Order a Sessional Committee on Government Assurances.
- Mandate of the Committee
- (a) The mandate of the Committee on Government Assurances shall be to scrutinize the assurances, promises, undertakings and the matters given by Ministers from time to time on the floor of the House and report on the extent to which such assurances, promises, undertakings etc. have been implemented; and
(b) Exercise such other functions that may be assigned by the House to the Committee from time to time.
Powers of the Committee
- The Committee on Government Assurances shall have powers as contained in Standing Order No. 95 (2).”

32. AMENDMENT OF INTERNAL SECURITY ARMS AND AMMUNITION ACT, 1966.
That this Honourable House gives leave to bring a Private
Member’s Bill in terms of Standing Order No. 52 (1) with the long title of the Bill to be “Internal Security Arms and Ammunition (Amendment) Bill, 2023: A Bill for an Act to amend Section 43 (1) – (6) of the Principal Act of 1966 with a view to revisit the terms and conditions of minimum sentence and minimum bail in respect of rampant armed crimes in robbery cases and assassinations.”
