Hon. Lethole Lethole

The Chief Whip is a member whose task is to enforce the whipping system, which aims to ensure that legislators attend and vote on legislation. The current Chief Whip is Hon. Lethole Lethole.

Honourable Lethole Lethole was born on 28th January 1970.

Honourable Lethole joined Revolution for Prosperity political party led by the Right Honourable Prime Minister Sam Matekane from its inception. He won the constituency of Mabote #29.

Academically, Honourable Lethole holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Civil Engineering from University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom obtained in 1998. He also holds a Project Management certificate from Damelin College in South Africa.

Honourable Lethole commenced his employment journey with the Lesotho Government, Ministry of Water, Department of Rural Water Supply in 1991 to 2003 as District Engineer. His responsibilities included: Preliminary survey of rural water supply schemes. Survey and detailed designs of rural water supply systems. Survey of reticulation network, hydraulic calculations of pipe-networks, preparations of construction schedules, bills of quantities and costing, preparation of budget for district plans. Preparing annual and mid-term plans for the design and construction of new water supply systems. Responsible for the management and supervision of construction of new water systems, feasibility study reports, drilling of boreholes and their installations. Monitoring of construction works by contractors.

From January 2004 to June 2022, Honourable Lethole worked as a Managing Director for LENS Construction (PTY) Ltd, where his responsibilities included: Overall management of the company. Administration of all construction contracts; Tendering, Material procurement, Project Management / schedule and Quality Control.
Major projects in the water supply systems construction, including drilling high-capacity Boreholes, their capacity and water quality testing / analysis.
In addition to his work experience, he got the following professional trainings from different institutions and organizations:

  • Integrated Water Resources Management at University of Witwatersrand RSA in September 2000.
