    *122. STREET LIGHTS AT MOTSEKUOA.
    Hon. L. Hlapisi (’Maliepetsane): To ask the Minister of Natural
    Resources, if he is aware that the street lights at Motsekuoa spend long
    periods of time without being operational, and that this leads to
    increased incidences of crime; and if so, how soon the Minister will
    consider installing high-mast flood lights (Li-Apollo) in the village.
    *129. INFORMATION REGARDING CASE NO.CIV/APN/55/2023.
    Hon. M. S. Lehata (Makhaleng): To ask the Deputy Prime Minister,
    and Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, to shed some
    light to this Honourable House on how Webber Newdigate Attorneys
    was recruited regarding case No. CIV/APN/55/2023; and to say
    whether there were no local law firms which could handle the case; and
    to also provide the agreement between the Government of Lesotho and
    Webber Law Firm regarding the fees, and disclose the amount of
    money paid by the Government or still owed to the firm up to-date.
    *137. INVESTIGATIONS INTO THE DEATH OF MR. KHAHLISO
    SORO.

    Hon. M. Lemphane – Letsie (PR): To ask the Minister of Local
    Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police, to shed some
    light to this Honourable House on the following regarding
  • the question has been deferred once
    investigations into the death of one Mr Khahliso Soro who was found
    deceased following his appearance before the Public Accounts
    Committee (PAC), and who worked in the Department of Home
    Affairs;
    (i) progress so far in the investigations; and
    (ii) whether a case for murder might be lodged in the Courts
    of Law any time soon.
  1. ANOMALY OBTAINING AT BEREA DISTRICT LRMIS.
    Hon. M. Maeea (PR): To ask the Minister of Local Government,
    Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police, if he is aware that at the
    Livestock Registration, Marking and Information System Department
    (LRMIS) in Berea District, employees have to find their own means of
    transport to do office field work; and if so, how soon Government
    transport will be provided in order that employees stop using their own
    money.
  2. TERMINAL BENEFITS FOR FORMER EMPLOYEES OF
    METOLONG AUTHORITY.

    Hon. M. Maeea (PR): To ask the Minister of Natural Resources, if he
    is aware that ex-Metolong Authority workers have to-date not received
    their terminal benefits since they were dismissed from work in July,
    2021; and if so, can the Minister say what is preventing the exMetolong Authority employees from getting their terminal benefits.
  3. RECONSTRUCTION OF COLLAPSED FOOTBRIDGES.
    Hon. K. Mabeleng (Hloahloeng): To ask the Minister in the Prime
    Minister’s Office, to say how soon the footbridges which were
    destroyed by floods at the following places will be rebuilt:
    (i) Potiking and

    (ii) Polasi.
  4. PROVISION OF ELECTRICITY.
    Hon. Prof. N. Mahao (PR): To ask the Minister of Natural Resources,
    to say how soon the following villages will be provided with electricity:
    (i) Gidione
    (ii) Ramokotjo
    (iii) Ramohajane
    (iv) Leqhetsoane
    (v) Mokema
    (vi) Katu
    (vii) Ramaqhanyane
    (viii) Lekete
    (ix) Liile
    (x) Motanyane
    (xi) Mokhohla and
    (xii) ’Meshaka.
  5. DAMAGED ROADS IN THE VILLAGE OF QOALING.
    Hon. Dr. T. Lipholo (PR): To ask the Minister of Public Works and
    Transport, if he is aware that the following roads in the village of
    Qoaling are badly damaged:
    (i) Lekhaloaneng to Loretto;
    (ii) Ha ’Mampho to Ha Thetsane;
    (iii) subsidiary roads throughout the village;
    and if so, how soon the roads will be repaired.
  6. REPAIR OF TOTALLY DAMAGED ROAD.
    Hon. M. Phiri (PR): To ask the Minister of Local Government,
    Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police, if he is aware that the road
    from Ha Seutloali to Ha Matelile is so badly damaged that it has been
    rendered unusable and if so, how soon the Minister will intervene in
    order that the residents can once again enjoy the use of their motor
    vehicles.
  7. NEED TO REPAIR WATER PUMPS.
    Hon. M. Phiri (PR): To ask the Minister of Natural Resources, if he is
    aware that the water pumps used to fill the water tanks in the village of
    Ha Matelile in Khafung Constituency are no longer working and
    villagers have been left without potable water and are currently
    compelled to draw unsanitary water from stagnant pools and rivers; and
    if so, how soon the Minister will intervene.
  8. RECONSTRUCTION OF FOOTBRIDGE.
    Hon. C. Lekholoane (Khafung): To ask the Minister of Public Works
    and Transport, if he is aware that the footbridge on the Tebe-Tebe
    River, which joins two Constituencies between the villages of ThotaPeli and Ha Ntlama was destroyed by floods; and if so, how soon the
    Minister will intervene.
  9. VILLAGES WITHOUT ELECTRICITY.
    Hon. C. Lekholoane (Khafung): To ask the Minister of Natural
    Resources, if he is aware of the need to provide the following villages
    with electricity:
    (i) Part of Masoeling,
    (ii) Ha Selome
    (iii) Ha Kotita
    (iv) Ha Mahleke
    (v) Ha Tšiame
    (vi) Ha Majara and
    (vii) Mahlatsa;
    and if so, how soon the Minister will intervene.
  10. VILLAGES WITHOUT WATER DUE TO VANDALISM.
    Hon. C. Lekholoane (Khafung): To ask the Minister of Natural
    Resources, if he is aware that the theft of an electricity cable by vandals
    has left the following villages without water:
    (i) Masoeling
    (ii) Ha Rantung
    (iii) Ha Mokoma
    (iv) Ha Rapalo and
    (v) Ha Phalatsane
    and if so, how soon the Minister will ensure that supply of clean water
    is restored.
  11. REHABILITATION OF BRIDGE.
    Hon. T. Malataliana (Bela-Bela): To ask the Minister of Public Works
    and Transport, if he is aware that the bridge to Bela-Bela, near St.
    Theresa, is showing signs of impending failure and is on the brink of
    collapse; and if so, how soon the Minister will intervene.
  12. PROVISION OF ELECTRICITY.
    Hon. T. Malataliana (Bela-Bela): To ask the Minister of Natural
    Resources, if he is aware that the following villages are without
    electricity, even though they have electrification schemes:
    (i) Lipeleseng
    (ii) Kueneng
    (iii) Bakaneng
    (iv) Baking
    (v) Lekhalong, Ha Ratomo and
    (vi) ’Muela;
    and if so, how soon he will intervene.
  13. PROVISION OF POTABLE WATER.
    Hon. L. Hlapisi (’Maliepetsane): To ask the Minister of Natural
    Resources, to say how soon potable water will be provided to the
    villages of Ha Mabusetsa, Moeaneng and Ha Qhoojoa.
  14. RESTORATION OF WATER SUPPLY.
    Hon. M. Hlalele (Thaba-Phechela): To ask the Minister of Natural
    Resources, to say how soon provision of potable water to the villages
    of Ha-Khoro, Makhanyeng and Ha-Ramotoho will be restored
    following the break-down of the village’s water pumping system.
  15. CONSTRUCTION OF ROAD.
    Hon. M. Hlalele (Thaba-Phechela): To ask the Minister of Local
    Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police, if he is aware
    that there is no usable road from Kolo, Ha-Lenonyane to Ha Thoahlane;
    and if so, how soon a road will be built.
  16. NEED TO COMPLETE REPAIR TO ROAD.
    Hon. M. Hlalele (Thaba-Phechela): To ask the Minister of Public
    Works and Transport, if he is aware that Ministry officials abandoned
    the gravel road from Bongalla to Nokeng ea Tšakholo, Ha Ralebese
    without completing repairs and without refilling the holes they have
    dug; and if so, how soon he will intervene.
  17. HOUSEHOLDS LEFT OUT IN THE PROVISION OF
    ELECTRICITY.

    Hon. M. Lempe (Kolonyama): To ask the Minister of Natural
    Resources, if he is aware that the village of Fobane was aided in the
    connection of electricity to the village by the ABOWA Project; but that
    the provision of electricity only extended to the middle of the village
    leaving out 62 households which have an electrification scheme worth
    M80, 000; and if the Minister if aware, how soon electricity will be
    provided to the rest of the village.
  18. REHABILITATION OF LEHONYELING TO LUMA-LUMA
    ROAD.

    Hon. K. Mabeleng (Hloahloeng): To ask the Minister of Local
    Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police, if he is aware
    that the gravel road between Lehonyeling and Luma-Luma has been
    washed away and vehicles cannot carry out their daily business, and as
    a result institutions such as clinics and businesses suffer; and if so, how
    soon the Minister will intervene.
  19. NEED FOR A GENERAL CLEANER: MPHARANE POLICE
    STATION.

    Hon. M. Seatile (PR): To ask the Minister of Local Government,
    Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police, if he is aware that since
    August, 2022 there has not been a gardener to clean the surroundings
    of Mpharane Police Station, with the cleaning job falling in to the hands
    of Police Officers; and if so, how soon a general cleaner will be
    employed.
  20. RELIABLE SUPPLY OF WATER: ABIA CONSTITUENCY.
    Hon. T. J. Makhalanyane (Abia): To ask the Minister of Natural
    Resources; if he is aware of the irregular daily availability of water
    within Abia Constituency where there is no supply during the day; and
    if so, how soon a reliable provision of water will be ensured.
  21. NEED FOR POLICE POST IN HLOAHLOENG
    CONSTITUENCY.

    Hon. K. Mabeleng (Hloahloeng): To ask the Minister of Local
    Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police, if he is aware
    that Hloaloeng may be the only Constituency countrywide without a
    single police post; and if so, how soon the Minister will intervene as the
    police stations/posts in neighboring constituencies which the
    community of Hloahloeng have so far been relying on are too far.
  22. NEED TO RESUME ROAD CONSTRUCTION.
    Hon. L. Moloi (Lebakeng): To ask the Minister of Local Government,
    Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police, if he is aware that work on the
    road from Ha Mohlapiso to Libobeng was initiated in 2017 and was
    abandoned and to-date no construction work is taking place; and if so,
    how soon the Minister will intervene.
  23. ROAD MAINTENANCE.
    Hon. T. Nkoefoshe (Tsoelike): To ask the Minister of Local
    Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police, to say how soon
    road maintenance will be carried out on the roads which serve the
    following villages:
    (i) Ha Mpiti
    (ii) Mosaqane
    (iii) Hlajoalimane
    (iv) Liqalabeng
    (v) Mosuoe
    (vi) Likhohloaneng
    (vii) Kanana
    (viii) Mojaki
    (ix) Bloumane
    (x) Ramatšeliso
    (xi) Ha Monyane
    (xii) Ha Jakopo

  24. PROVISION OF ELECTRICITY.
    Hon. M. Masoetsa (PR): To ask the Minister of Natural Resources, to
    say:
    (i) how soon electricity will be provided to the village of
    Hermon, including Hermon High School and Hermon
    Primary School;
    (ii) how soon the Ministry of Agriculture will be compelled to
    provide electricity to the woolshed built by the WAMP
    Project and which was meant to be provided with
    electricity when it was built in 2020;
    (iii) when electricity will be provided to the villages of
    Hermon, Jimson and Nkalimeng which have formed
    electrification schemes.
  25. INFORMATION REGARDING GOVERNMENT ASSETS.
    Hon. M. Phooko (PR): To ask the Minister of Public Works and
    Transport, to shed some light on the following regarding Government
    property:
    (i) the total number of Government held houses throughout
    the country;
    (ii) the number of houses occupied by Government Officials;
    (iii) the number of houses unlawfully occupied by people no
    longer employed by the Government.

    (iv) the number of houses which have deteriorated beyond use;
    (v) the number of sites which have been sold by the
    Government; and
    (vi) the number of Government offices which are currently
    unoccupied and unused.
  26. REVISION OF SALARIES, WAGES AND PENSIONS.
    Hon. M. Masoetsa (PR): To ask the Minister of Public Service, Labour
    and Employment, if he is aware that salaries, wages and pensions for
    Public Service Officers have not been revised for the past five (5) years;
    and that the challenges of inflation, economic meltdown, Covid-19 and
    the Russia-Ukraine war which have led to the increase in food prices
    and other commodities make it imperative to revise public servants
    remuneration; and if so, how soon the Minister will intervene as the
    low-end public servants salaries are no longer adequate for their
    domestic needs.
  27. INFORMATION REGARDING VOTER REGISTRATION.
    Hon. M. E. Mokhothu (Qhoali): To ask the Honourable Deputy Prime
    Minister and Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; to
    shed some light on the following regarding voter registration:
    (i) the voter registration system the IEC has adopted and how
    long it has been used;
    (ii) the company which is the custodian of the IEC voter
    registration database and the length of time this company
    has been doing this work;
    (iii) whether in engaging this company all tendering processes
    were properly followed, and if so, the identities of all the
    companies which had tendered;
    (iv) whether the company has transferred any skills to IEC
    employees to-date;
    (v) in light of the high number of electors who did not vote in
    the 2022 National Assembly Elections and who had their
    democratic right to choose their representatives having
    been violated, to provide the reasons which led to this, and
    also the mitigation actions that will be put in place to
    safeguard electoral integrity in preparation for the
    upcoming Local Government Elections; and
    (vi) the guarantees the public and other stakeholders have that
    there shall be a clean voters roll in the upcoming Local
    Government elections if the IEC continues to use the same
    company which has failed over the years to deliver a
    credible voters roll.
  28. PROVISION OF ELECTRICITY.
    Hon. M. S. Lehata (Makhaleng): To ask the Minister of Natural
    Resources, to say how soon the villages of Ha Motjotji, Ha Potiane, Ha
    Raboletsi and Ha Sematle in the Makhaleng Constituency will be
    provided with electricity.
  29. REASONS FOR HALTING RECONSTRUCTION OF ROAD.
    Hon. Dr. M. Phamotse (Matlakeng): To ask the Minister of Public
    Works and Transport, to give reasons that rehabilitation of the road
    between Botha-Bothe Town and Mabothile village in Matlakeng
    Constituency has been halted despite the very urgent need for a road in
    the area; and to also say when rehabilitation of the road will resume.
  30. REASONS FOR CEASING RECONSTRUCTION OF ROAD.
    Hon. Dr. M. Phamotse (Matlakeng): To ask the Minister of Public
    Works and Transport, to give reasons that the rehabilitation of the road
    which links Liphofung village and other villages has stopped when it
    was already underway; and to also say how soon reconstruction of the
    road will resume to provide the Liphofung community some relief.
  31. NEED TO CHANGE MOKHOTLONG’S DEPENDENCE ON
    SOUTH AFRICAN ELECTRICITY.

    Hon. L. J. Adontši (Mokhotlong): To ask the Minister of Natural
    Resources, to say how soon he will consider attaching Mokhotlong
    electricity users to the reliable power grid used by the Polihali Dam
    establishment, as continued dependence on the South African grid has
    led to unprecedented foodstuff wastage when the Mokhotlong
    Community remains without electricity for up to four (4) hours at a
    time.
  32. NEED FOR A FOOT-BRIDGE.
    Hon. M. Maphathe (Matelile): To ask the Minister of Public Works and
    Transport, to say how soon a foot-bridge will be built across Makhaleng
    River to give access between the following villages in Matelile
    Constituency:
    (i) Ha Setlakotlako
    (ii) Ha Kholoanyane
    (iii) Lifajaneng
    (iv) Ha Setlolela and
    (v) Ha ’Mathabang.
  33. NEED FOR FLOOD LIGHTS – ABIA, HA MAPETLA.
    Hon. T. J. Makhalanyane (Abia): To ask the Minister of Local
    Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police, if he is aware
    that the absence of street lights at Ha-Mapetla in Abia Constituency
    leads to high incidences of crime and assaults; and if so, how soon the
    Minister will consider installing high-mast flood lights (Li-apollo).
  34. PROVISION OF ELECTRICITY.
    Hon. M. Ralitapole (Machache): To ask the Minister of Natural
    Resources, to say how soon electricity will be provided to the villages
    of Ha Ramakha, Ha Ntsane and Ha Ntlama to ease the lives of residents.
  35. NEED FOR COMMUNICATION TOWERS.
    Hon. L. Monaheng (Thaba-Putsoa): To ask the Minister of Information,
    Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation, to say how
    soon communication towers will be built in the villages of Ha –
    ’Mamenyane, Ha – Paepae and Ha- Thaba Bosiu.
  36. FLOOD LIGHTS FOR MAJOE-A-LITŠOENE.
    Hon. E. M. Ramakatsa (Majoe-A-Litšoene): To ask the Minister of
    Natural Resources, if he is aware of the rampant incidents of crime and
    murder in Majoe-A-Litšoene which have left the society fearful; and if
    so, how soon the Minister will consider installing high-mast flood lights
    (Li-apolo) as most incidences of crime occur at night.
  37. NEW INK STAMP FOR MPHARANE POLICE STATION.
    Hon. M. Seatile (PR): To ask the Minister of Local Government,
    Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police, if he is aware that the ink
    stamp at Mpharane Police Station is so worn out that it is no longer
    usable; and if so, how soon a new ink stamp will be provided for the
    benefit of the community which relies on the Police Station for services.
  38. REHABILITATION OF ROAD.
    Hon. T. J. Malothoane (Tsolo): To ask the Minister of Public Works
    and Transport, to say how soon the road which goes through Ha
    Lekhooa to Thaba-Tseka, and the storm water gutters at the junction of
    Thetsane, Tsolo and Likotsi Constituencies will be repaired and the
    high mast lights (Li-apolo) be put in constant use as funds have been
    appropriated in the 2023/2024 budget.
  39. EXISTING PAUCITY OF WATER: MAJOE-A-LITŠOENE.
    Hon. E. M. Ramakatsa (Majoe-A-Litšoene): To ask the Minister of
    Natural Resources, if he is aware of the current existing paucity of water
    in Majoe-A-Litšoene Constituency, and also that the promise of the
    Greater Maseru Project does little to alleviate the existing problem; and
    if so, can the Minister say what measures he will take to ascertain
    provision of water to the community of Majoe-A-Litšoene while they
    wait for the Greater Maseru Project to gain hold.
  40. INAUGURATION OF PRE-SCHOOL AND AWARDING OF
    GRANTS FOR TEACHERS EMPLOYED ON CONTRACT.

    Hon. S. Mosebetsane (Mashai): To ask the Minister of Education and
    Training, if he is aware of the following:
    (i) Makoko Primary School in Thaba-Tseka district (Reg. No.
    130042) took the initiative of building a classroom for preschoolers with the help of parents and one American
    Peace Corp Volunteer, but to-date the new class has not
    been officially inaugurated, nor has it been assigned a preschool teacher; and
    (ii) Pitseng Primary School (Reg. No. 130043) has only one
    teacher who has an employment grant and who is also the
    Principal; and yet there are two (2) teachers who had
    initially been hired on a contract (Lihalahala) and whom
    the Principal has made a request for them to be given
    grants;
    and if the Minister is aware, how soon he will intervene.
  41. UNPAID BENEFITS AND SALARIES OF TEACHERS.
    Hon. S. Mosebetsane (Mashai): To ask the Minister of Education and
    Training, if he is aware that the following teachers have to-date not been
    paid their terminal benefits and salaries:
    (i) ’Mamolefi Evodia Makhale (Emp. No. 0049425) who
    worked as acting Principal at Linotšing Primary School in
    Thaba-Tseka from 01/06/2017 to 31/06/2022; and who
    currently works at Mashai Primary School;
    (ii) Sophia ’Mamohale Mohale (Emp. No.
    PR69381/0039898) who worked at Mashai Primary
    School (Reg. No. 1200230) in Thaba-Tseka and retired on
    30/06/2022; and
    (iii) Tsotang Dumakude (Emp. No. 860635) who has worked
    at Sehong-hong High School without receiving his salary
    since November, 2021;
    and if so, how soon the Minister will intervene.
  42. REPAIR OF YOUTH SPORTS GROUNDS.
    Hon. M. Lempe (Kolonyama): To ask the Minister of Local Government,
    Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police, if he is aware of the need to make
    repairs on sports grounds in Kolonyama Constituency; some of which have
    been identified by DIFA as suitable places for youth sports grounds; and if so,
    whether the earthmoving equipment which will soon be deployed in the
    Constituency will be utilized towards the purpose.
  43. ROAD FULL OF POTHOLES.
    Hon. M. Lempe (Kolonyama): To ask the Minister of Public Works and
    Transport, if he is aware that the tar road from Kolonyama, Setopong to Ha
    Rakolo is riddled with potholes which frequently cause punctures and
    accidents; and if so, how soon the potholes will be taken care of.
  44. RECONSTRUCTION OF BRIDGE.
    Hon. T. Notsi (Tšoana-Makhulo): To ask the Minister of Local Government,
    Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police, if he is aware that the bridge between
    the villages of Ha Rapholo and Ha Kubere was destroyed by floods in 2022
    and its absence continues to be a great hindrance for vehicle owners and
    school children; and if so, how soon the Minister will intervene.
  45. PROBLEMS PERTAINING TO PEKA WOOLSHED.
    Hon. M. Maeea (PR): To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Food Security and
    Nutrition, if he is aware of the following pertaining to Peka woolshed:
    (i) the iron sheet roofing is rusted and leaky while the supporting
    wood boards and beams are rotted, putting the whole roofing
    structure at the risk of collapse;
    (ii) the quality of the wool and mohair stored in the shed is at risk of
    deteriorating due to damage by water;
    (iii) there is neither electricity nor water; and
    (iv) there is no security, which places the wool and mohair stored
    there at the risk of getting stolen;
    and if so, how soon the Minister will intervene.
  46. ELECTRIFICATION OF HA RAMOTHAMO VILLAGE.
    Hon. T. Notsi (Tšoana- Makhulo): To ask the Minister of Natural Resources,
    if he is aware that the villge of Ha Ramothamo which lies between the villages
    of Ha Mpoba and Ha Koali; remains without electricity despite the fact that

    the electricity provision initiative was inaugurated for the three (3) villages at
    the same time, but Ha Mpoba already has electricity while engineers have
    been on site visits at Ha Koali, and if the Minister is aware, how soon
    electricity will be provided to the village of Ha Ramothamo.
  47. ESTABLISHMENT OF HEALTH CENTER.
    Hon. L. Monaheng (Thaba-Putsoa): To ask the Minister of Health, if he is
    aware of the need to build a Health Center/Post in the village of Ha
    Rapokolane (Jordan) to serve the people of the villages of Ha Nyakane, Ha
    Likomisi, Pontšeng, Ha Makhobalo, Ha Letsie and others who currently gain
    health services at Likalaneng Health Center in the Health Service Area of St.
    James Mission in Mantšonyane; and if so, how soon the Minister will
    intervene in line with the existing plan to establish health centers in the areas
    of Ha – Sankong, Ha- Ralobisi (Setala Area), Setibing and Ha- Rapokolane
    (Jordan).
  48. NEED TO SUBSTITUTE O-LEVELS WITH A-LEVELS.
    Hon. M. Maliehe (PR): To ask the Minister of Education and Training, if he
    is aware that the retention of the COSC O-levels as the highest exit
    qualification in Lesotho High Schools hinders high school graduates with
    potential to join universities in other countries across the world as the standard
    for university level entry has become A-levels high school certificates; and
    that most parents cannot afford to pay for the extra year of A-level
    qualifications for their children; which undermines Lesotho children’s
    opportunities to reach their true potential; and if so, how soon A-levels will
    be standardised as high school exit qualifications to make it easy for Basotho
    youth to gain university entry anywhere in the world.
  49. REHABILITATION OF ROAD.
    Hon. M. Ralitapole (Machache): To ask the Minister of Public Works and
    Transport, to say how soon the gravel road from Baleming which goes along
    the edge of the Metolong Dam, before it emerges in Tšoana-Makhulo
    Constituency at Thota-Peli village will be rehabilitated, particularly for the
    benefit of the communities spotted along the edge of Metolong Dam, who
    have little means of travel to go shopping for essentials or to go for medical
    services or school; and who are compelled to pay high fees for rides in open
    back trucks (li-van).
  50. ADDITIONAL CLASSES FOR MAPHONKOANE PRIMARY
    SCHOOL.

    Hon. L. Hlapisi (’Maliepetsane): To ask the Minister of Education and
    Training, if he is aware that enrolments to Maphonkoane Primary School have
    increased greatly due to the addition of a Reception Class, and that this has
    led to the number of class rooms available being inadequate; and if so, how
    soon additional class-rooms will be provided for Maphonkoane Primary
    School.
  51. INFORMATION REGARDING MONEY STILL OWED TO WOOL
    AND MOHAIR FARMERS.

    Hon. T. Mokhosi (PR): To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Food Security and
    Nutrition, on the following regarding payments still owed to wool and mohair
    farmers who were compelled to put up their produce for sale at Thaba-Bosiu
    in 2018:
    (i) the amount of money still owed to wool and mohair farmers;
    (ii) the number of Basotho farmers still owed, and
    (iii) how soon those farmers will be paid.
  52. ELECTRICITY AND WATER FOR THUATHE CONSTITUENCY.
    Hon. V. Tsheka (Thuathe): To ask the Minister of Natural Resources, if he is
    aware:
    (i) that a large number of villages in Thuathe Constituency remain
    without electricity despite electricity lines destined for other
    places going right past many villages in the Constituency;
    (ii) that streets lights in the Thuathe Constituency are not working
    despite other constituencies close to Maseru City having working
    street lights; and
    (iii) there is a Constituency-wide paucity of potable water despite the
    Metolong water pipes going right through the Constituency;
    and if the Minister is aware, how soon he will intervene.
  53. INFORMATION REGARDING HIRING OF TEACHERS.
    Hon. T. Mokhosi (PR): To ask the Minister of Education and Training, to shed
    some light on the following:
    (i) the total number of teachers hired between 2020 and 2023;
    (ii) the number of teachers hired each year between 2020 and 2023;
    and information regarding the years in which they completed
    their teaching studies;
    (iii) whether there are indeed qualified Basotho teachers who gained
    their teaching qualifications as far back as 2012 and who keep
    applying only to get rejected; and
    (iv) the manner and strategies the Minister will employ to ensure that
    teachers’ recruitment is undertaken without discrimination or
    favouritism.
  54. INFORMATION REGARDING WRONGFUL DEATHS IN THE
    HANDS OF THE POLICE.

    Hon. T. Mokhosi (PR): To ask the Minister of Local Government,
    Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police, to shed some light on the following
    regarding suspects who lost their lives in the hands of the police due to
    extreme interrogations:
    (i) the number of people who died between 2017 and 2023;
    (ii) the number of the deceased per individual police stations and
    posts throughout the country;
    (iii) the measures that the Management of the Police Services has
    undertaken against Police officers involved in the loss of life of
    suspects; and
    (iv) whether the Honourable Minister can provide the list of names
    of those suspects who died in the hands of police.
